Author Musician Filmmaker Escape Artist
We say shalom! My name is Derek Vasconi. I’m best known as one of the founding guitar players in the band, FROM A SECOND STORY WINDOW. I also am the author of KAI, a best selling fiction horror novel. Oh, and I produce idols and make music for them. And because I’m an over-achiever, I’ve created art concept photobooks based on working with several idols and artists, and I’ve made some documentary films and music videos too. But wait! There’s more! I’m also a blogger! In fact, you can read my blog entries and explore everything else about me and what I’m currently up to right here. Last but not least, if you want to support what I’m doing, please consider purchasing my music, movies, and books, and support me on Patreon. Welcome to my official website!

MIHO
Miho is known as a “Yasashii idol.” She specializes in being really kind to everybody she meets. Her music, however, is introspective and often deals with darker themes. Yet Miho’s overall message is hope and positivity will save us all from unhappiness.

A LONG TIME AGO, IN MY MID-TWENTIES, FAR, FAR AWAY…
FROM A SECOND STORY WINDOW
A chaotic, ADHD band that hailed from “Ohiovania,” I was lucky enough to have played guitar and piano for this incredible group, which I was one of the founding members of the group. I helped in writing the guitar parts, all the piano parts, some drums, and also producing/arranging the tracks on the band’s first two albums, NOT ONE WORD HAS BEEN OMITTED and DELENDA. I was also fortunate enough to have toured all of America and Canada with the group, and to this day, FASSW lives on in the hearts of many fans all over the world.
VIRGIN UNIVERSE
A duo project conceived and thought of by Kalin Sankey and myself, we released one album, THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF BEING ME, which consisted of songs that reflected a looooooot of heartache, sadness, depression, and looking back on the past with a mixture of regret and nostalgia. The gut-wrenching vocals, guitars and pianos were all Kalin, with me chiming in on some parts here and there, but once again, I helped mostly with arranging and producing each song to perfection.
